School Community Council 2024-2025

School Community Council 23-24
Serving on our School Community Council (SCC) is a great way for families to get involved, have their voices heard, and help represent the community in decisions that impact the Viewmont student body. The SCC is responsible, in coordination with school administration, for creating the School LANDTrust Plan annually.  SCC members help determine how School LANDTrust funds distributed to the school each year are spent on improving academic performance at the school.

Elections for members of the SCC take place in the fall at the beginning of each school year.  However, all community members are welcome to participate in any meetings, even if they do not hold a seat on the council.

Viewmont Elementary is fortunate to be a part of the School Land Trust program and is appreciative of the monetary allocations we receive each year.  Following is a summary of the actual funding for the previous four years, as well as the current year:

  • 2024-25: $ 77,160
  • 2023-24: $ 80,395
  • 2022-23: $ 77,373
  • 2021-22: $ 74,103
  • 2020-21: $ 72,077
  • 2019-20: $ 64,217
  • 2018-19: $ 54,637

Our School Community Council (SCC) decides how these funds will be used. The SCC reviews and prepares other academic plans for our students each year. All plans are reviewed for final approval by our School Board. The SCC also acts in an advisory capacity to the school and school district administrations.
